My 5 April Favourites

1. FILM

Room tells the extraordinary story about Ma (Brie Larson) a women who was abducted as a child and her 5 year old son Jack ( Jacob Tremblay). Since Ma was abducted as a child she has been confined to this tiny room by her abductor who she later unwillingly falls pregnant by and then both her and her son are confined to this tiny room. For jack the room is all hes ever known and especially when younger it was easy to keep him happy in there playing games, having fun and convincing him that outside the room there was nothing worth seeing. However as Jacks starts to grow older, his curiosity about whats outside the room starts to grow. Ma finally decides with the help off her little boy to hatch an escape plan….well if you want to see what happens next then you’ll just have to watch the film, you won’t regret it.

2. TV SERIES

I have to admit that this month, this show has managed to get me fully hooked. Most my free time at the moment has been spent watching Baby Daddy episodes. Baby Daddy is a half hour long series about a guy in his 20’s called Ben who gets a huge surprise when a baby girl his baby girl Emma, is left on his door step by his ex girlfriend. At first Ben is torn as to whether he can be a dad or not, but eventually with the help of his flatmates (His Brother Danny and Friend Tucker) and his Mother (Bonnie) and his on and off girlfriend/friend (Riley) that he might actually be able to raise the baby.
My summary doesn’t really do the the series justice. With a emotional journey taken by all along the way, this series really has had me both crying and laughing at times and is definitely a must see.

3. BOOK

From the moment I read the first page of the first short story I knew I had to read this book.
American Housewife is a selection of 12 crazy but yet funny short stories. The way the author draws you in and introduces you to the wonderful characters in the book,is done so well and gives you a real glimpse into there world. The stories cover everything from Scandal, Love, Kidnapping and a whole heap of sarcasm. At times the book had me laughing out loud but at other times saying ‘What the …’ with thanks to its weirdness. American housewife stories is the perfect read for anyone whose ever wondered what goes on behind the facades of the housewives of america.

4. PLACE WE’VE VISITED

This month and with the promise of some sunnier weather we’ve been able to visit Woodlands Theme Park. As a child I was lucky enough to spend many a weekend and birthdays here with my own parents, so seemed only right that I now do the same with my little ones. Woodlands theme park a family theme park based in Devon. The theme park has stuff suited for all weather with both indoor and outdoor attractions. It has become one of our favourite places to visit with the kids.

5. PHOTO

A few days it was my little boys 3rd birthday. I chose this photo which I put together of him at a few weeks old vs him on his 3rd birthday. It really does show just how quickly time goes and just how much they can change and grow.
