One of my favourite blogging events of the year is Blog On. It is the perfect opportunity to make new blogging friends, see old ones as well as getting to network with a variety of brands and PR’s. It also gives me a reason to book a night away the night before, meaning I get the rare opportunity to enjoy a bed all to myself and a evening off parenting. This time round it worked out that Blog on Xmas was being held at Hotel Football, which as well as being a fantastic place for people to hold events its also a great place to stay.
Hotel Football is a four-star hotel situated in Manchester, Old Trafford to be more precise right opposite the Manchester United Stadium which is perfect if you are or are going with a football fan. It is also close to Manchester City Centre and Media City which is ideal if exploring/shopping is one of your reasons for visiting.
Upon arriving it was really easy to locate the reception area, which is 24 hours. I was greeted by two lovely members of staff, who booked me in. They explained to me where everything was in the hotel The restaurant, where to eat and also what time breakfast was the following morning. I was then guided towards the lifts and told were my room was which was located on the 2nd floor. To use the lifts you have to scan your key card, which I thought was a nice security feature.
When entering the room I was instantly impressed with the black and white colour scheme. It made it feel clean, classy and cosy, I especially loved the wallpaper. After a long days travelling, the bed looked really inviting. It was so comfortable and I liked that there were also different pillow options available. I have to admit think it was a mixture of having a bed to myself and the bed being super comfortable that meant I had one of the best nights sleeps in a long time.
The room also had some lovely football related artwork hung on the walls. As well a 40 inch TV which hosted a full sky sports package, BT sports and MUTV for the football fans as well as other channels for those that are not. There was also a desk which was ideal for sitting at and completing some blog work I had to do before heading out. Hidden away underneath the desk was the most awesome mini fridge which contained retro sweets, drinks, crisps & chocolate and even beer, all of which were complimentary.

After a wonderful nights sleep, I had to get up and get ready before heading for a fun filled day at Blog On which was being held at Hotel Football this time. Getting ready meant I got to make use of the gorgeous Bathroom in my room. The walk in rain shower was incredible, I desperately want one for our bathroom at home. I also really liked the complimentary products that were beautifully presented in the bathroom for guests to use. I think its really lovely when hotels pay attention to details like this.
Once I was ready, I decided to head down for breakfast in the Hotels restaurant called Cafe Football. Guests do have the option of filling in a form and hanging it on their room door which means the hotel will bring your breakfast to your room for you to enjoy. However I opted to go and eat it in Cafe Football situated on the ground floor.
There was so much to choose from breakfast wise, it was lovely. There was a area dedicated to continental breakfast choices which consisted of things such as cereal, toast, pastries, meats and juices etc. Then you also had the option of ordering hot drinks as well as ordering something hot and freshly cooked off the breakfast menu, which again there was still lots of choice and although I was very tempted by the Full English, I opted for Eggs Benedict which was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Overall I had a really lovely overnight stay at Hotel Football. The staff were all lovely and welcoming, the room was really clean and cosy and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance too and I’d love to visit again myself again in the future to hopefully see what else the Hotel and Manchester has to offer.
Disclosure: I was not asked by the Hotel to write this review in anyway. I just had such a lovely stay that I wanted to share my experience. All opinions as always are honest and that of my own.
