5 Second Rule Game – Review

I think it so important for a relationship, especially when you have little ones to set a side time for you as a couple. Recently me and my partner have made sure to set aside at least one night a month to do something fun together, a sort of date night. However finding a babysitter can be hard meaning going out isn’t always an option, we’re always looking for new things to do indoors. Sadly there’s only so many Netflix series, that you can quickly run out. So when I was offered the chance to review 5 Second Rule Game by University Games, I though it would give us something new to try for a change.

5 Second Rule GameThe 5 Second Rule game consists of  a Playing Board, a 5 Second Timer, 6 Playing Pieces, Question Cards, Pass and Switch Cards and a easy to follow instructions manual.  The aim of the game is to name just three things that have a common interest in 5 seconds or less. This may sound like something that would be easy to do, but trust me the timer puts you on edge and so you can end up shouting random things out that make no sense or your mind just going blank.

5 Second Rule GameBack to the instructions, the game is as I said before really easy to play, yet so much fun. A card is taken from the Questions deck and then the timer is turned. The player then has until the timer runs out (5 seconds) to give 3 answers to the question. If the player doesn’t manage to successfully give 3 answers then their card is then passed to the next player. That player then has  5 seconds to give 3 answers but, they have to be different to the previous player’s answers. I should mention however that if a player get really stuck, then they have the option of using pass or switch card.

5 Second Rule Game 5 Second Rule GameWe had so much fun playing this game and trying to answer the questions in time. Both me and my partner are fairly competitive, so neither of us wanted the other to win and kept trying to distract one another during the 5 seconds we had to answer. Even though it was me and my partner that chose to play this time round the game is aimed at children age 8 and up, so I’m sure once the kids are old enough it will become a fun game for us to play as a family.

5 Second Rule Game has a RRP of £19.99

Disclosure: I was kindly sent the above product for the purpose of this review. However as always all opinions are honest and that of my own.

This sounds great! We love to buy a new game for Christmas and we love games like Taboo and Articulate, so this sounds right up our street. Definitely one to bring out on Boxing Day – some of my favourite Christmas memories are of the silly things that people have come out with playing these types of games!

This looks like great fun. Jayne and I are both extremely competitive too so I am sure there would be an intense battle to win.
